So it's been quite some time since I wrote the last, I'm sorry. I have been busy with A LOT of things. A lot have happened, so let's just start at the school festival and work our way through it all haha. After this, I will try and keep this blog updated every week, not just for you guys - but for myself. I mean, when you don't write for two weeks and you want to write everything you do - then it will be some pretty long entries which take a great deal of time to write haha and it only gets harder to find the time as the days pass by and you get more to write.
!! WARNING !! There's A LOT of pictures and stuff in this entry and it's a REALLY long entry.
Well, here we go!
Friday the 20th of July;
I woke up as I usually do and went to school a little later than usual, because we had to meet a little later. We did the last preparations of the ghost house for Saturday and such. After that we started the school festival in the gym - the whole day was in the gym actually. This day was only for the school, so that was super nice. There was A LOT of performances and they were all absolutely amazing. I was honestly shocked. So, how can you not love that? I can't really explain it much, so I will just put some pictures and videos in here, so you can see what I mean.
Saturday the 21st of July;
This whole week was amazing. Got myself a sweet boyfriend, had an amazing time, then came the school festival and so on!
Sunday the 22nd of July;
Sunday was nice, we went to a park, a cherry farm and a university
Monday the 23rd of July;
Back to school! Summer vacation would start in this week so I was legit just tired and out of concentration. You know, that is how it is whenever the holiday is near. You just run out of concentration haha.
This day we went to the same place as the tea ceremony though, to try on kimonos - which was super fun. They are so nice. After we all tried on the kimonos we drank some more green tea, the tea ceremony style, and chatted. I was so nice and relaxing haha. I even found out that the tea ceremony lady and I have birthday the same day, what a coincidence right?! Besides the fact that she will turn 70
Tuesday the 24th of July;
Tuesday was the last real day of school, Wednesday would be closing ceremony and cleaning the school, so my concentration was legit GONE. At least Ivan took us (Emma, Charlotte, Yasmin & me) to the Ookuriyama Ski Jump, which was used in the Winter OL 19somethingsomething, 1989 maybe? Don't remember, but it's super close to my school. We went there and had a lot of fun. We took the ski lift up to the top, ran around, ate ice cream and then went down to the winter OL museum, which they had right besides it. In the museum you could try all these winter OL simulators - so we obviously tried them all, the ice skating one, the ski jump one, the ice hockey one etc. It was so much fun, so that was just absolutely amazing. After that, we went back to school to get our bags - because we used the last three periods at the ski jump haha. Super nice.
After school Mikko and I went to take purikura together - because the summer vacation would start soon at that was just amazing haha. We also went to look around in 4pla afterwards where she showed me the guy she likes!! Super nice.
In the evening my host father, Sayaka and Sayaka's father went to eat sushi as well. Damn how I missed sushi haha. So that was SO nice and I was SO full afterwards.
Not true! Not the most delicious ice cream in Sapporo, I'm sorry haha. |
Wednesday was just legit. I went to school, where we just cleaned up and like that and then had our closing ceremony in the gym. It was so nice. I went straight home after that. In the evening I went to Eimi's place, she's a third year at my school, so my senior, and Yasmin was living at her place, so that's why I went there haha. We ate Okonomiyaki and talked for a long time. It was SO much fun. After that we went out to fire off some fireworks. That was NOTHING like we do it in Denmark, when young people, well anybody I guess, say they want to set off some fireworks here, that means the take the all the small things you can hold in the hand and light them up. NO rackets or anything, I was surprised. I mean, in Denmark we always fire rackets in this age and like that, it's the fun part haha. The funniest part was how dangerous they thought these small things were. They just stood still and looked at them and held them far away from their body, while Yasmin and I ran around waving them around like crazies and hold them super close to our bodies, even pointed them at each other etc. I mean, like we do in our own countries with something as little as that haha. So it was fun and they just thought we were crazy and took a lot of pictures of us.
When I returned home Sayaka and my host father took me to look at fireflies. We only saw a few this time as well, but even just one firefly is pretty. So that was super nice. This day as well, was my one week day with my
Thursday the 26th of July;
First day of vacation. Oh how I slept! The whole day I didn't really do much, like, at all. It was SO nice, I needed that vacation, SO bad haha. This evening we went to a Rotary Club event, because my host father is also a volunteer for Rotary. The event was SO nice, we got SO much food and it was all delicious and I got to meet A LOT of people and talked some Japanese. That was super nice haha. Sayaka and I also got these extremely big backs FULL of candy, I don't think I'll ever finish eating this thingy, it's actually THAT much candy. I mean, we got two of them! It's sick. Everything was super fun though, so there was nothing there haha.
Friday the 27th of July;
Friday was amazing. I went up early to go to Odori with Yasmin and Eimi. It was super nice, we went to Starbucks and we bought shoes and other things, like jewelry and such.
Around 4 o'clock Yasmin an I went to my host fathers office so I could get my Yukata on. After getting that on we met with some of my school friends and Michelle at Odori to take purikura before going to watch the firework display. I was so looking forward to it, especially because I was going to see my
Saturday the 28th of July;
Just sheer relaxing. Super nice haha. I also planned to go watch Batman with him at Sunday, so I was looking forward to the next day obviously. I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote with him at that time, he seemed a little weird and I didn't really think more about that and went back to sleep.
Sunday the 29th of July;
When I finally woke up there was a message from him saying, I think we should break up. I was like WHAT THE....?! And wrote him straight away asking why etc. so we talked about it for some time, me trying to say why we should be together etc. but he wouldn't budge. He made up his mind. He said he'd been thinking about it for a while now, what's going to happen when I go home, how hard it'll be not seeing each other and how he might want to date others when we can't see each other and like that. I would definitely have tried to work it out, but I obviously can't choose for him. So we broke up, he said he still liked me, but well, that doesn't really help at all. So no date that day, no Batman (I really wanted to watch that as well, especially with him). But the worst thing is, I asked him if we should stop it before we became a couple. Because it might be hard when I go home etc. and at that time he said he could do it etc. so that kind of pissed me off a little, but he was an amazingly sweet boy, so I hope we can stay friends. Really. So the rest of this day was just laying in my bed, eating candy, watching series on my computer, reading and such. Just me time.
Monday the 30th of July to Friday the 3rd of August;
Monday was all the things I wrote in the last sentence of Sunday. The whole day, haha. Typical after a breakup right?
Tuesday the 31st of July;
I had to wake up early because this day I had to go to Asahikawa, which is a two hour train ride away from Sapporo. On my way to Sapporo station, the subway stopped. It just stopped, as it did one day when I was on my way to school. I have no idea why, because my Japanese isn't THAT good. So I just stood there thinking FUCK. I had to meet the others AND catch a train. I did catch the train though, so it was good and we all came there in time.
It was really nice seeing Lene from Norway again and some of the other AFS Asahikawa students I never talked to before. So all was good haha. Then there was all the girls from the Asahikawa Fuji All-Girls school as well, of course, it was their UL
At the camp we did a lot of funny things. We went to a abandoned railway tunnel one of the days and had to go the whole way through it in groups of three. No light, no talking etc. and it was literally pitch black in there. You couldn't see a hand even if you hold it in front of you. So we walked hand in hand through the whole thing, it felt like we were in a horror movie, but it was worth it. It was an AMAZING experience. Good thing I'm not afraid of the dark. The funny thing is, we were in the middle of watching a horror movie when they took us out there and when we came back, we watched the rest haha. Good thing that I love horror movies so much and that they don't scare me enough to not go into a big black tunnel afterwards. I kind of wish the horror movie had been something with a tunnel or with being trapped in a black cage or something, THAT would have made everything a lot scarier haha.
We also had International Night, where we all performed the dramas we've been working on. They were all super amazing and funny haha. After that we made a BIG bonfire and danced around it and then they fired fireworks, real once, rackets, but that was the teachers. We all got the before mentioned to play around with after that haha. It was all so much fun, I really liked that camp a lot. Even though I though it would be super boring, because English camp sounds super boring. Everything was super nice though and I had a great time.
Eden looks good in a dress hahahaha! |
Sapporo station <3 Home sweet home |
Saturday the 4th of August (Today);
I don't have any plans today. My voice is almost gone, because I got a cold. The day of the tunnel it was raining and such, so yea - that's probably why. So I'm just relaxing, enjoying my summer vacation and like that, right now haha. So that is just amazing. I really need some relaxing now. The camp was super fun, but also super exhausting. I will try to get my family to take me see Batman one of these days though haha. Could be super nice, I still really want to see it. Even though it reminds me of him by now, stupid guy..... Oh well.
Here's some random pictures from the camp and other times;
Lene and I wrote dirty things in Norwegian and Danish on Eden's arms haha. |

I have no idea if you read my blog, honestly, but if you do. I miss you SO much already. It was amazing meeting you in a place like Japan, you have become so important to me in such a short time, now I simply can't imagine life without you! Just the fact that we still talk all the time, shows me that we will be friends for a very long time, if not, forever. You are an amazing person and I can't wait to see you again. No matter where in the world it'll be. You are the sweetest thing, really! I hope you had fun while you were here and you never forget the crazy times we had together - because I know that I won't haha. I just want to tell you that I love you, always will! Because you're just LEGIT
That's all for now, I'm sorry for the super late and loooooong update. I hope all the pictures and videos make up for it haha. Thanks for reading, I'll try to be a better blogger!!
